52 S E P T E M B E R / O C TO B E R 2 0 1 8 Disruptive Generation Fairbanks Morse will be presenting a poster at Solar Power International called Disruptive Generation that discusses: ► providing dispatchable and f lexible power, ► enabling fuel savings and renewable DER deployment, ► enhancing power reliability ► creating new business models where OEMs and their customers share risks and lower overall cost of energy for the lifespan of an onsite generation contact. Its PoweReliability-as-a-Service platform relies on digital technologies like IoT to deliver on-site power for industrial facilities, schools, hospitals, universities and municipalities or in remote locations and extreme condi- tions. The platform provides tremendous f lexibility for power systems operators by enabling the integration of distributed energy resources (DER) such as solar, wind, energy storage and other DERs to facilitate a variety of use cases. Highview Power is a designer and developer of true long-duration energy stor- age solutions that will be presenting a poster session on True Long Duration Energy Storage at Solar Power International. The company's proprietary Liquid Air Energy Storage (LAES) technology uses liquid air as the storage medium and its custom-designed solutions can scale to deliver more than 200 MW/1.2 GWh of energy. Highview's LAES technology is based on the principle of air liquefaction, which enables the easy storage of gases in cryogenic liquid form. Recovering the stored energy utilizes the large expansion in volume from liquid back to gas, powering turbines and generating electricity. This enables Highview's system to store energy in increments measured in days rather than hours at a significantly lower cost of storage compared to lithium-ion batteries and with zero emissions in the process. Funding trends Mercom Capital Group is a leading clean energy research and communica- tions firm that will be presenting a poster on Solar PV Funding and M&A Trends at Solar Power International. Mercom's quarterly Funding and M&A Reports offer in-depth analysis of funding into the solar, energy storage, smart grid and ener- gy efficiency sectors and are read by C-level executives, government officials and decision-makers from venture capital firms, private equity groups, investment banks and policy groups. Long-Duration Energy Storage The Poster Reception is a forum at SPI to highlight research, new technology, project data or other technical information. Poster Preview SPI 2018 Date: Tuesday, Sept. 25 Time: 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Location: Anaheim Convention Center | Hall D
